Actually i tweeted about this the other day and wouldn't mind blogging about it. Aside from dudes looking for hookups on grindr, I've not really seen implied social networks take off. Granted, I don't know the numbers for Sonar, but look at what a failure color has been so far? Your idea in and of itself isn't bad, but I just don't know if the market is truly telling us that implied social networks are something it wants. I need to understand your app better, but on the whole people don't seem to want to be approached by strangers or converse at events with the random people around them. Would love to know any stats you have to the contrary.

I just got it too, it seems that the count is quite accurate. Couldn't stop laughing while doing it though. I ended up having to put it aside and just check the results when I was done. LOLs

Oh I'm fine in the meatspace, but this fellow definitely taught me a lesson and any dude who disrespects me like he did is going to get dropped faster than a iphone 4 call after a death grip.

In the end the compelling reason is that meatspace is what matters, and yon phone has all the physical capabilities of a glowing, vibrating skip-rock in said territory. Until mobile robotics bridges that par-tic-ul-ar gap... I wish you luck in finding a good meatbag. Yon phone can probably help there too. Shweet.

I appreciate down-to-earth reports like this about what it's like having personal technology permeate our day-to-day lives.

A 'recommendation stream' as you put it is exactly what's being created by Facebook users today. I think it's more cause for education on the matter than alarm.

I'm prone to 'alarmist' thinking and my daydreams end up in post-apocalyptic times, but when I snap out of it I believe more good can come out of personal technology than evil.
